Using Points and Miles When Booking With A Travel Advisor

A widely-held myth is that if want to earn points with your favorite airline or hotel chain, or have your elite benefits recognized, you can’t use a travel advisor. Nothing could be further from the truth. Let’s face it: your points or miles probably are not going to pay for your entire trip. I have booked many trips where a client has used their airline miles for the airfare, and I’ve helped them book the rest of the trip, and at a significant savings. In fact, you may be able to book the entire trip with me and use your points to reimburse yourself!

Another concern I hear is the ability to earn airline and hotel points and receive loyalty benefits if you book with me. I can book directly with the hotel chain, so you can both earn points and get your benefits like upgrades, free breakfast, and lounge access, based on your status with the hotel chain. You can also  frequent flyer miles on many of the flights that I book as well.

Several credit card companies offer programs that provide for upgrades and amenities at luxury hotels.  I offer a similar program at many of the same or similar hotels and can often add perks such as free breakfast, early check-in and late check-out, a room upgrade, and a hotel or resort credit.
